How to convert PNG to PDF
- Choose your PNG files or drop them on the page. Each image becomes one page.
- Arrange the pages by dragging or with the arrows, and choose page size, orientation and margin. For small text, set the quality to 95 % or more.
- Click Create PDF and the file is downloaded.
How PNG images are stored in the PDF
PNG is a lossless format, which makes screenshots large. To keep the PDF small, each image is stored as a JPG at the quality you choose; transparent areas become white, like the paper of the page.
| Quality | Use |
|---|---|
| 95–100 % | Screenshots with small text, diagrams, fine lines |
| 85 % (default) | Most graphics and scans – nearly indistinguishable, much smaller |
| 60–75 % | The smallest files, e.g. for upload limits |
Tips for screenshots and scans
- Same as image as page size keeps screenshots in their original proportions, without white borders – ideal for reading on screen.
- A4 or US Letter with a 10 mm margin is best for printing.
- Automatic orientation puts wide screenshots on landscape pages.
- Need a size limit? Enter it in Max. file size (KB) and the converter compresses the images until the PDF fits.
Frequently asked questions
Will transparent backgrounds stay transparent?
No. PDF pages have a white background, so transparent areas of your PNGs become white.
Can I combine PNG and JPG files in one PDF?
Yes. Drop JPG or other images together with your PNGs – or use Image to PDF, which offers all image formats in the file picker.
Is there a limit on the number of pages?
No fixed limit. Very many large images need a lot of memory, which mainly matters on older phones.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is created in your browser, so your screenshots and documents stay on your device.
